LONGi Green Energy Technology Co. has once again broken a world record for silicon solar cell efficiency, achieving an impressive 27.30% efficiency under laboratory conditions. This marks the 17th time the company has set a world record in solar cell efficiency since April 2021, firmly establishing LONGi as a leader in crystalline silicon photovoltaics. The achievement underscores the company’s commitment to innovation and technological advancement in the global solar energy industry.
The announcement was made at a celebratory event in Madrid, Spain, where LONGi unveiled its new flagship product, the Hi-MO 9 module. The Hi-MO 9 module, based on the 2nd generation Hybrid Passivated Back Contact (HPBC) solar cell technology and the TaiRay wafer, boasts a remarkable conversion efficiency of up to 24.43%. Designed to excel in challenging environments such as lakes, mountains, and deserts, the Hi-MO 9 module offers world-leading power generation capabilities and unparalleled reliability throughout its lifespan.
Speaking about the new module, Dennis She, Vice President of LONGi Green Energy Technology Co., emphasized its superior performance and reliability. He highlighted that the Hi-MO 9 module ensures optimal land utilization and maximum value extraction from sunlight, making it an ideal choice for power plant owners. The panels will be manufactured at LONGi’s Jiaxing Production Base, recognized by the World Economic Forum as a Global Lighthouse Factory for its adoption of Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies in manufacturing.
