Heatio Secures £2M to Expand Home Energy Management Tool

Heatio, a startup based in Liverpool, has secured £2m in funding to accelerate its mission of democratizing access to clean and affordable energy solutions. Founded in 2022, Heatio plans to utilize this investment to expand its team and launch an enhanced version of its smart energy home management tool, Heatio Flexx.

The platform leverages AI and machine learning to offer personalized energy solutions tailored to each household’s energy consumption and property type. By optimizing energy efficiency, Heatio aims to help customers reduce their energy bills while promoting sustainability.

This financial support will not only scale Heatio’s customer onboarding processes but also support the rollout of a new subscription model called ‘Energy as a Service.’

In collaboration with industry giants like E.ON and Energy Systems Catapult, Heatio plans to pilot this subscription model in the North West, initially targeting 350 homes. This initiative aims to eliminate upfront costs for consumers interested in adopting renewable technologies such as heat pumps, solar PV, and battery storage.

CEO Simon Roberts expressed confidence that the investment would enable Heatio to expand access to green energy solutions. He highlighted the company’s commitment to enhancing energy security and advancing the UK’s transition towards a clean, sustainable future. Roberts emphasized Heatio’s initial goal of democratizing access to green technology and reducing reliance on fossil fuels for home decarbonization.

Mo Aldalou, programme director at Baltic Ventures, praised Heatio’s focused mission of fostering a cleaner and greener future. He expressed optimism about Heatio’s future growth trajectory and its potential to positively impact global sustainability efforts.

In summary, Heatio’s latest funding round positions the company strongly to innovate in the clean energy sector, aiming to make significant strides towards a more sustainable energy landscape in the UK and beyond.
